Skincare Spotlight: Cleansers

I have wanted to start a series here on the blog and I thought skincare would be a great place to start. Spring is the time when we think about cleaning and starting fresh and I think that should be applied to your skin as well. The most important step in skincare, in my opinion, is cleansing. If you don’t do anything else but take off all of your makeup and any dirt then you are doing a major step.

Last year I used my first oil based cleanser and I haven’t gone back since. The Boscia Make Up Break Up Cleansing Oil takes off every single bit of make up. It takes off the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation, lots of mascara and winged liner with no problem. I don’t ever feel like anything is left over, not even mascara. The best thing about this cleansers is that after I wash it all off my skin feels soft and moisturized. I love that I don’t get that dry, squeaky feeling like a lot of other cleansers.

The Sephora Triple Action Cleansing Water is a new discovery for me. For years I have heard about the Bioderma and how well it works but it is not easy to get a hold of. This is the same concept, easier to find, and cheaper. I use this on days when I am feeling lazy or I don’t have a lot of makeup on. I now dislike using makeup remover wipes because they never get everything off and this is an amazing alternative. It still removes all of my mascara and brow products with ease. All I do is put it on a cotton pad and wipe the make up away. It is quick but works 10x better than any make up remover wipe.

Either one of these cleansers would be a great addition to your collection and are both good for all skin type. A good cleanser in your skincare routine will make a world of difference.
