2018 goals

2017 was a bittersweet year. Honestly, it wasn’t all rainbows and good times. A lot of hard things happened but so did a lot of good things. We lost my grandpa in April and that has been tough. School also took over my life and didn’t leave time for much else. Most of our wedding was planned this year and I cannot wait until April 6th 2018! We also were able to go to HangOut fest and travel to New Orleans a few times. With all the good and bad all I can say is that I am excited for 2018.

This year holds a lot of amazing milestones for Matt and I. We have our wedding in April and our honeymoon right after. We will be heading to Paris, France and it will be both of our first times in Europe. I’ll also be starting the internship part of my Masters program and will finally be getting a hands on view of what my future career will be like. I also have a lot of big plans for this little space of mine on the internet.

2018 Goals

Make a healthy lifestyle a priority Honestly this has yet to happen every year I set it but I really want to make this year different. I’ve already been trying to eat healthier but I really need to motivate myself to work out. I always feel better after I do but getting started is the problem. If you have any tips or workout programs you love please let me know!

Keep up 4.0  My goal when I started my graduate program was to keep an A average. I was never a student that was straight As in the past even though I still maintained an AB avergae. This time aroudn thought I really wanted to make school a priority and prove to myself that I could do it. A year and half in and I am happy to say that the 4.0 is still there but with a 2 years left in my program I can’t slack off now.

Keep travelling I already mentioned it above but Matt and I plan on going to Paris for our honeymoon so I already have a jumpstart on this goal. Last year I was able to go to Chicago, Gulf Shores, Indianapolis, and New Orleans a few times. This year I want to add more new places to my list of where I’ve been.

Create  better saving habits Saving has been such an up and down thing for me. I was great at saving at least half of my paycheck when I first started working but I was also living at home. Now that I am out on my own it’s been a lot harder. Matt and I really want to make it a priority when we get married so that we can save up for the big purchases in life, like a car and house.

Read more for fun  I’m aiming to read at least one book a month. When I was a kid all the way up til High School I was constandtly reading but when I started college that really slacked off. Now that I am in the slower part of my program I really want to get back into it. I also have a a goal to read all of the Hercule Poroit novels by Agatha Christie so I really need to get back on that if I am ever going to finish.

This week I decided to team up with some of my favorite bloggers and bring you an amazing giveaway. One lucky reader will win a $750 gift card to Amazon.

Good luck with your goals! And have fun in Paris! I want to get a lot of travel in this coming year, too, even if it’s just exploring local stuff.

Thank you so much! We did a Seine River boat cruise that was seriously sooooo amazing; we got to watch the Eiffel Tower light up and sparkle! Also, just walking around at all the little boutiques– the shopping was incredible!! 🙂 The best part of my time in Paris, though, was paddle boating on Marie Antoinette’s lake at Versailles. It was something I will never forget for my entire life!!

Those all sound amazing. I had been looking into the river boat tours. Which one did you use?

Ahh, so sorry, I don’t know! It was through studying abroad at my college, and it was in 2007 🙁 I am so sorry!!! But I am sure they are all equally amazing!!
