Apple Picking in Alabama

Apple picking is such a quintessential fall activity that I didn’t think I would experience unless I traveled up to the east coast. After some searching though I found a cute little orchard right here in Alabama! It’s called Scott’s Orchard and it is in a small town right along the Alabama/Tennessee state line. It was a lot of fun to make a day trip out of it and mark something off of my fall bucket list! If you are in Alabama or Tennessee I would recommend going to visit. They have a little shop with all kinds treats including apple and peach slushies which were amazing! This trip really got me in the fall mood and ready to start this festive time of year.

One piece of advice I will give is to wear boots of some kind. I always saw people wearing rain boots or otherwise and now I know why. The unglamorous side of apple picking is that there are apples all over the ground and some of them are quite mushy. Luckily I avoided any shoe disasters but I will definitely be wearing boots next time! This cardigan look was perfect for the weather this weekend. It’s still very much warm here in Alabama so real fall dressing isn’t happening quite yet. So for now I will have a cami with a jacket or cardigan over top for the cooler evenings.

I keep thinking the weather is going to cool down soon, but it doesn’t seem that way! There are a few apple orchards around where I live, and I need to get out there soon! It is one of my favorite fall activities. Those apples look gorgeous!

Ah so fun!! So glad you found an orchard- they are definitely hard to find in the South! I used to live in NC for a few years, and the one year I wanted to go apple picking it was quite a drive to find one.

This makes me want an apple cider donut right now! And a cozy red cardigan to wear while I eat it 😉 Love how you mixed it with the silky cami!

These pictures are so cute! I am so excited for apple picking. I live in Tennessee, so I have to wait a few more weeks before they are ripe. But I’m already planning some apple recipes!
