Le Pavillon Hotel Review New Orleans

I’m not sure if I mentioned here on the blog before but I was actually born in New Orleans. That is where my parents met and a lot of my family has lived there over the years. So I am not stranger to the city but the one thing I didn’t experience much growing up was the abundance of stunning hotels around the city. As I mentioned in last Monday’s post I had seen the Le Pavillon (and it’s iconic Greek columns) as a kid and had always wanted to stay there. I recently got the opportunity this past weekend as Matt, my mom, and I headed down to New Orleans to celebrate one of my cousins getting married.

The Le Pavillon New Orleans hotel is located in heart of the business district in downtown New Orleans. We stayed in a double room with a gorgeous city view. It’s location is perfect for people visiting the city that don’t want to stay right in the French Quarter.

It’s it right off the interstate and very close to the Super Dome in case you are in town for a game or a show. It is in walking distance to a plethora of shops and restaurants. It’s also just a quick drive or cable car ride to the french quarter or other areas of New Orleans.

The hotel is not lacking on amenities. The first thing that we checked out after we checked in was the rooftop pool. It’s a little on the small side but it has a great view of the city. There was also a little cabana area to order food and drink service. Back down on the first floor they have a large bar area and a grand dining room for meals.

My favorite feature though is something personal to this specific hotel. Every night at 10 o’clock they bring out homemade peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and serve it with milk or hot chocolates. Luckily we got back just in time to watch them set this up and be the first in line. It is a unique tradition with a cool story behind it. You can read about it here.

We stayed in a double room on a high up floor. I always like to stay as far up in the hotel as I can and the view did not disappoint. The rooms had been renovated recently to a more modern look which I prefer to the previous one. One of the things I appreciated the most was the plethora of plugs they had around the bed, even USB ports.

It had two large double beds, a desk area, a lounge chair that my mom ended up loving a lot, nice sized closet space and the standard entertainment stand with a TV. The bathrooms were nice with marble flooring and a large shower area, just a little on the small side overall.

Overall I had a great experience at the Le Pavillon. The hotel was lovely and everyone we came across was very friendly. If you are planning a trip to New Orleans I would definitely recommend checking it out. I will also be doing a post for city guide full of the best places to eat, drink, and see in New Orleans in the next couple of months.

I have been a guest in this hotel at least twice. The last time, we had the Sunday Brunch and celebrated the 50th anniversary of my 30th birthday! It was unforgettable! Bottomless mimosas, great food and delightful entertainment! Truly, a birthday to remember! The guest rooms are spacious and the beds are luxurious! And you will love being welcomed by valet in top hat and tails! Can’t wait to go back!
