Styling Long Coats for Winter

Styling Long Coats for Winter

Happy Wednesday! I am finally back from my impromptu blogging break. Life gets in the way sometime and even though I had more time then normal to devote to this blog I just was not feeling it. I was in a funk and honestly just feeling lazy. Blogging takes a lot of work even though it may not seem like it. It takes up hours of your week that you could spend hanging out with friends or working on school stuff. I do always come back to it though because I really do enjoy it. Shooting the photos from today’s post definitely showed me how much I did miss blogging regularly and styling looks for y’all. Keep scrolling for more on styling long coats for winter.

Winter trends always end up being my favorite style and experiment with. This winter I have been loving styling long coats for winter. This blue one was more of a statement piece and today’s look is monochromatic for a more understated look. I love this coat styled with an all black outfit underneath but I wanted to step out of my go to all black and pair it with some other camel colored pieces in my closet.

At first I wasn’t sure if the long coat trend was going to work for me because I am on the shorter side (5’3″). I was pleasantly surprised that I was wrong because this look actually makes me appear taller. The trick is to find one that end at the bottom of your calf or ankle.

It is also best if you are short to style a long coat with heels or heeled booties. If your shoes give you height it helps to elongate your legs paired with the cut off of the coat. Another way that I would style a long coat is with a dress or skirt that cuts off at the knee or above. The shorter skirt contrasts really well with the long coat.
