The Striped Shift Dress

I bought this shift dress to wear to work but I went for a casual weekend look today. You will definitely see it styled again in a more office friendly way. I love the different size stripes and the pops of blue.¬†I normally love the way shift dresses fit but I wanted to change it up by cinching in the waist. I also belted this to help tie in with the color of the mules. Mixing black and brown was never something I saw as “bad” if it was done right (this unusual color combo last seen here).

This post was meant to be up yesterday but life got in the way while I was preparing for my new job. I had my first day yesterday and it has inspired me to create a new series here. The new series will be Business Casual for the Young Professional. When I dress for business casual/office wear I want to continue to stay true to my own style without seeming unprofessional. I hope I can help inspire other recent grads on dressing for their new jobs.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!
