Happy February and happy 2020! In 2019 I became overwhelmed with everything going on and that meant that this blog and all social media fell to the wayside. Life got crazy busy with my last semester of graduate school and a few other things. So I took some time over the holidays and really thought over if I wanted to continue blogging or just give it up. It was not an easy decision but I couldn’t let go of something I had spent so many years of my life putting effort into. So I decided to continue blogging and figured out that things would probably look a little different for me to continue. I am not going to be so hard on myself to do it perfectly or not at all. That kind of mindset took all the fun out of this hobby and put too much pressure on me. So while 2020 Between the Pearls may look a little different, hopefully, it will be more consistent and still bring lots of useful content to you. For now, I want to catch you up on what happened in my life in 2019 and what I’m looking forward to in 2020!
The first half of the year was pretty travel heavy and consisted of visiting a lot of places we’ve been before and love. Our first trip was to New Orleans to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary / 8 years dating. We had an amazing time eating delicious food and we finally got to see Hamilton!
Next up at the beginning of May we took a weekend trip to Gulf Shores with some of our friends for a quick getaway. This trip was much needed after a hectic Spring semester of grad school and moving. Plus it’s always nice to spend some time at the beach with good friends.
In June for my 26th birthday, we had a lot of our friends join us for a trip to Nashville. This was my first proper trip up to Nashville and exploring the downtown area. My best friend also moved up there during 2019 so I am anticipating many more trips up there in 2020.
The rest of the summer consisted of enjoying a break before my final semester of grad school, lots of trips to the farmers market, and working.
Our last trip of the year came at the beginning of August. Matt and I took a quick trip up to Indianapolis, which is one of our favorite cities to visit. We had gone 2 years ago and I really enjoyed going back. It’s very walkable and has a lot of unique things to do.
The rest of the year was the busiest and most hectic that I have ever had before. I started my last semester of grad school, which was my internship portion, and working part-time. Matt and I also started talking about looking for a home in 2020 and all that goes into getting ready for that huge purchase. In December I finally graduated from my 3 and half year graduate school program and lastly….
I found out I was pregnant!
Matt and I are so excited to be starting our family in June 2020. While 2019 was a crazy and amazing year, I know 2020 is going to be even better. I can’t wait to start sharing more on here about pregnancy, motherhood, plus some interiors. I will continue to share my style, beauty, and travel posts as well.
